Howdy Partners, glad you stopped by. Welcome to my part of the Old West. Most of my friends live in Texas but many live in Indian Territory, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah Nevada, Montana and about every where else Freedom, Independence, Self Reliance and Opportunity can be found along with fine horses. Some of my friends come all the way from Russia and England. Many come from Virginia, Tennessee and other far away places like that. The thing they all have in common is a burning desire for something better than what they have, something they can build, something they can call their own but most importantly, they want to live free and independent without being hammered into being and doing what others think they should be and do. They all want to leave something they have built to their sons and daughters who will follow. They all want to live in peace but demand justice and fair play; they try to negotiate peace and have their share of patience which works often enough. But many times justice can only be had behind a cloud of gun smoke or at the end of a rope. Justice was important and it was an evolving thing whose interpretation was different to each to each and all.

I hope you enjoy the unique way my friends rendered justice as they were able. I particularly like the way Jake let his worst enemy lie in the bed he had made and rode off. If you enjoy the simple stories of simple people who were forced by circumstance beyond their control to do or try extraordinary things, you will enjoy traveling back through the Old West with my friends.

My first book, From an Oath to a Dream, is about a young Jake who has lost his parents, his fathers money, a small herd of Charloe cattle and his beloved thoroughbred horses his father was taking west. Jake took an oath on his parents’ graves that he would render justice on their murderers, recover his parents money, recover his Thoroughbreds and complete their dream of building a horse and cattle ranch out west. Things turn many times more complicated when he attempts to recover some of his horses from a tribe of Sioux Indians and discovers they have a blond captive girl that an old Indian hag is mistreating. Should he try to recover his horses or the girl? A man sized decision for a teenage boy to make. Later he wants to go after the men who murdered his parents and stole their money they received for their Virginia property; but the wagon train is in trouble because several men including the scout were killed by the Sioux. Jake has the only horse capable of the rigors of scouting. Should Jake seek his revenge that his whole being is hollering out for or should he stay and do his best to help the wagon train? Another man sized decision! I think you will like Jake!

My second book, Escape to Texas, is about an older soldier assigned the job of an assassin or sharpshooter who gets fed up with killing people. His commander wants to eliminate him so he gives him an assignment he has no chance of surviving. But he survives and decides that he will finish the assignment and go home. After eliminating the enemy, he takes their cargo of repeater rifles and dynamite. He is awed by a cargo of Henry repeater rifles with self-contained brass ammo which he has never seen. He knows how valuable the rifles will be to his unit; or will it just cause more unnecessary death in a war already lost? After some hair-raising escapes, he finds himself in Texas where he has to fight another war to keep his independence and freedom to build something of his own.
